This is a recruitment pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, and Fixed Term Part Time appointments. Fixed Term appointments will be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur until 31 March 2026.
What is our Clinical Nurse role?
Under the direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s), Clinical Nurse practises in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Making Flowchart. Clinical Nurse provides advanced, comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. In addition, this role acts as a role model, providing leadership, support, team building and change management through respect, recognition and collaboration.
At Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH), the Surgical Services comprises 14 Departments and 7 wards, in which ward G61 is focused on colorectal and upper gastrointestional surgeries, while G71 is a surgical assessment unit (SAU), including Endocrine surgical services, Breast surgeries, Haematology/Oncology services, and gerenal surgeries.

SCGH is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.
