About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Casual Workplace Trainer/Assessor to deliver Certificate III in Individual Support workshops and conduct assessments. The role involves traveling across the state to conduct one-day workshops for learners before they commence their work placement, ensuring they are prepared for the practical aspects of their qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging and informative one-day workshops for Certificate III Individual Support learners.
- Conduct simulations and assessments for core competencies, including providing individualised support, empowering clients, and following safe work practices in direct client care.
- Facilitate realistic and safe simulated environments to assess learners’ abilities to support individuals with dementia, ongoing skills development, and end-of-life care.
- Assess learners in both simulated and workplace settings to ensure competencies meet training package requirements and align with industry standards.
- Provide guidance and support to learners to ensure they are prepared for their placement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of training and assessments.
- Travel to various training venues across the state as required with a reliable own vehicle.
Essential Criteria
- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
- Qualification in Individual Support (Certificate III or higer).
- Demonstrated experience delivering training and assessing in the Individual Support sector.
- Demonstrated industry currency in the Individual Support sector.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse groups of learners.
- Strong knowledge of compliance standards within the vocational education sector.
- Willingness and ability to travel statewide for workshop delivery with use of own vehicle.
Desirable Criteria
- Practical experience working in aged care, disability or home and community care settings.
- Experience using workplace-based assessment tools.
- Strong organisational skills to manage workshops and learner records.
