We are currently seeking a passionate and driven Outdoor Recreation Manager to join our PCYC Outdoor Recreation center in the Capricorn Coast. If you are an experienced sales or program design manager with a keen interest in the outdoors, then we want to hear from you!

Your New Role
We are looking for an Outdoor Recreation Manager to lead the team at PCYC Capricorn Coast to success. You will drive this successful camp business through an exciting period of growth and redevelopment. This role collaborates closely with the Camp Manager to oversee the catering, cleaning and maintenance team while being the first point of contact for clients. As the Outdoor Recreation Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering adventure and outdoor recreation services. This includes facilitation, logistics and support of/to program delivery. The role has a Sales and Program Design intent with a responsibility for program, activity and client safety. Additionally, the role has key elements of activity equipment inspections and maintenance plus overseeing specific projects including managing SOP’s, budgets, program development/design and client consultation. About You
- Recognised industry accreditation and experience across various adventure activity disciplines e.g., Cert 4 in Outdoor Recreation, Vertical or Swift Water rescue accreditation, Single Pitch Abseiling Guide or equivalent, Low and High Ropes Challenge Course, Canoeing - Flat Water Level or equivalent.
- Experience in outdoor education, with the ability to facilitate groups of a variety of ages, backgrounds and towards program. At least 300 field days of program experience or demonstrable equivalent.
- Understanding of adventure and recreation and their relationship to personal, group and leadership development
- Effective Communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Effective ability to manage and track client related documents and budget updates as a part of the project or service administration
- Eligibility for a QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and National Police Check.
- Open driver’s license (manual) and an ability to drive in a variety of terrain and off-road conditions –steep tracks, creek crossings and sand using a 4WD
- Holds a current First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferably at a wilderness level).
Please note: Working With Children Check (Blue Card) No Card, No Start and Restricted Person legislation applies. All PCYC employees are required to complete a National Police Check upon commencement.
