About Freedom Hub

Freedom Hub is a purpose-driven social enterprise dedicated to rebuilding the lives of survivors of modern slavery. Through our ethical business operations—including a café, catering, retail, wholesale, and corporate training—we generate revenue to fund our Survivor School. We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Social Enterprise Business Development Manager to drive growth, increase revenue streams, and expand our impact.

Role Overview

The Social Enterprise Business Development Manager will oversee our business units—including the Café & Catering Manager, Ethical Business Services (EBS) team, Retail, and Wholesale—to ensure they meet their financial and operational targets. This role is responsible for business growth, strategic partnerships, and revenue diversification, helping us expand our corporate consulting, wholesale, retail, events, and training services. Our vision is to be National by 2034 so interstate growth will become important and this role therefore has the potential to grow to full-time as National oversight.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Unit Performance & Growth

Provide strategic oversight and support to the Café Manager, Event Planner, EBS team, Retail, and Wholesale, ensuring they meet and exceed revenue and impact targets.

Set KPIs and performance goals for each business unit and track progress.

Identify efficiencies and growth opportunities to maximise profitability.

Support business units in overcoming challenges and refining their strategies.

2. Business Development & Revenue Generation

Identify and secure new revenue streams for the Freedom Hub’s social enterprise.

Expand our corporate consulting and training services, securing contracts with ethical businesses.

Develop and grow wholesale and retail partnerships, ensuring our ethical products reach a wider market.

Drive event and catering sales, working with the café team to increase bookings.

Explore innovative business models and market opportunities aligned with our mission.

3. Strategic Partnerships & Networking

Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, ethical brands, and industry leaders.

Develop collaborations with businesses that align with our ethical and social impact goals.

Represent Freedom Hub at evening networking events, conferences, and/or industry forums once a month.

Leverage existing and new networks to expand awareness and funding opportunities.

4. Ethical Business Services (EBS) Expansion

Work with the EBS team to grow corporate consulting services, helping businesses implement ethical supply chains and workplace practices.

Identify and secure corporate clients for training programs, ethical consulting, and workshops.

Develop and execute a sales and marketing strategy to position Freedom Hub as a leader in ethical business consulting.

5. Marketing & Brand Growth

Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance the visibility of our café, catering, retail, wholesale, and ethical business training services.

Work on targeted campaigns to attract new clients, partners, and customers.

Support storytelling initiatives that communicate our impact and mission.

6. Financial Performance & Reporting

Set financial goals and sales targets for each revenue stream.

Monitor business unit performance and report on key metrics.

Work with finance to ensure profitability and sustainability of all business operations.

Identify funding and grant opportunities that align with our mission.

Key Skills & Experience

Proven business development and sales experience, preferably in social enterprise, ethical business, or purpose-driven organisations.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing multiple business units.

Track record in securing corporate partnerships, sponsorships, or consulting contracts.

Experience in retail, wholesale, catering, or hospitality business growth is a plus.

Excellent networking skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.

Strategic thinker with financial acumen and a results-driven mindset.

Passion for ethical business, sustainability, and social impact.
