About the Position
As the Program Officer, you will contribute towards the efficient and effective administration including the eligibility, application and administrative practices/processes for the Away from Base (AFB) program. As a member of a small and dynamic team, the Program Officer – Away from Base works with a diverse range of students, staff and stakeholders on a day-to-day basis.
The Program Officer – Away from Base role works within the First Nations Student Programs team to administer the Away from Base program which provides financial support and assistance to eligible First Nations students who travel away from home to complete compulsory course requirements such as workshops, placements, and training blocks.

About You
To be successful, you will require:
• Experience working with and/or in a First Nations Australian or relatable context, including demonstrated knowledge of historical and contemporary issues that have had an impact on First Nations Australians.
• Demonstrate a high-level of awareness and competency in communicating with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Ability to work as a member of a small team and under general supervision, provide effective and efficient administration of day-to-day tasks and provide clear advice on administrative policies, programs and procedures.
• Sound computer skills demonstrating proficient use of a range of desktop programs, including word processing, data management, web software and finance management systems.
• Experience in program administration/management, including advocacy and promotion of effective solutions to achieve compliance and continuous improvement.
• Well-developed administrative skills and expertise including the ability to devise practical solutions and revised approaches in short periods of time.
• Familiarity or contemporary knowledge of the business practices within a tertiary environment.

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Level 4. The base salary will be in the range of $67,800- $72,078 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $79,326 - $84,331 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
