Casual Cook /Junior Chef position available

A restaurant in Ballina is seeking a Cook / Junior Chef to join the team. We are searching for a hands-on, strong, and passionate Cook / Junior Chef to support our Chef with evening service. The workload will vary from assisting with prep, plating entrees, assisting with mains, etc. along with managing the dishwasher section as required. You will work closely with a small team of passionate industry professionals to ensure that every guest experiences our high standards of excellence. Prior experience working in casual/fine dining restaurants is a bonus.

Note: Cook / Junior Chef position is only responsible for dinner service. Breakfast service is not required or expected for this position.

For this position we are seeking a Cook / Junior Chef who possesses the following:

Prior experience as Cook / Junior Chef (desirable, not necessary)

Outstanding communication skills

Ability to foster co-operation and respect between co-workers

Food handling and hygiene knowledge and understanding is a must

Ability to assist with any/all tasks to support the success of the kitchen

Maintain high standard of cleanliness in kitchen, cool room, and storage areas

Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations meeting safety standards

The successful applicant will be required to work a flexible schedule including weekends (not Sunday's) and public holidays.

Work eligibility: Permitted to work permanently and with no restrictions on hours (e.g., citizen, permanent resident).
