Young is a town is located two hours from Canberra and four hours from Sydney. Young Regional Conservatorium provides music education to school students and community members in the south west slopes area of NSW. YRC is an active member of the Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums, and a Childsafe organisation.

We require a music teacher with a broad range of experience and skills to join our team, and to build an active studio for students of all ages and stages of learning.

The successful candidate will take on three well-established community choirs as well as five school choirs. Ideally, they will also be able to take on vocal students; lower brass students, and will have experience in running ensembles.

The position, beginning Term 2, 2025, can be negotiated as casual or permanent part time. There is potential to grow the studio to the hours that best suit you, and to tailor to your expertise.

Essential skills and experience:

tertiary qualifications in music performance and/or music education, or equivalent experience;

pedagogical knowledge and experience teaching individuals and groups;

willingness to work as part of a team and to further develop their own skills as part of that team;

a driver's licence and willingness to travel to outlying schools (paid travel time and car provided by YRC);

the right to work in Australia;

a current Working with Children Check number and evidence of recent child protection training, or willingness to undertake same, prior to commencing in the role;
