Sous Chef Position at The Punter Club Hotel

The Punters Club Hotel is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and positive superstar Sous Chef to join our young and exciting team. This is an amazing opportunity to be involved in a new pub that has hit the ground running and already been awarded the ‘Good Food Guide - Pub of the Year’ and the ‘Time Out - Pub of the Year’.

We are after a chef with at least two years of experience in a similar position or higher. A person who operates well in a fast-paced environment. A person who has experience in controlling inventory, someone who is calm and composed under pressure and a clear communicator. A person who has their eyes set on the future and are making progressive moves, always aiming for excellence. The ideal candidate will always have options for career growth.

You’ll be a part of a small business that pushes the boundaries, serves the community for lunch and dinner seven days a week and gives the locals and the out of towners a fantastic place to go. Whether it is for a nice lunch or dinner, playing pool, watching some amazing live music, dancing to some of Melbourne's best DJ’s or having a drink with your mates.

The gig:

Assist with kitchen operations

Create, develop or improve dishes

Ensuring food quality is tip top and consistent

Strong and fearless leadership

Adaptable in solving problems and troubleshooting

Maintaining stock control

Kitchen systems, rostering (deputy)

Supervise OH&S standards

Requirements:

Food safety supervisor certificate

At least 2 years of experience in a Sous Chef position or higher

Effective communication skills

Composed and calm presence

Certificate III of commercial cookery

Interest in the industry and what’s going on

Benefits:
