Are you a seasoned strategic financial leader ready to shape the direction of a rapidly growing and dynamic investment group? We are seeking a Group CFO to lead enterprise-level financial transformation and performance, setting the gold standard across multiple managed investment entities.

Our client is a progressive and diversified investment group with a strong presence across agriculture, asset management, and manufacturing. With managed funds at the core of their portfolio, they deliver value through strategic asset allocation, operational discipline, and investor-focused performance. The board and CEO are driving the business to operate at listed-entity standards as they prepare for the next phase of growth and innovation.

This newly elevated Group CFO role offers the opportunity to lead finance at a transformational level, partnering with the board, CEO, and senior fund executives to drive enterprise-wide financial performance, capital structuring, and governance.

Your mandate will include:

As Group CFO, you will oversee the financial leadership across multiple managed investment funds and business units. You will unify financial governance, support commercial decision-making, and provide strategic direction across the group.

Strategic Enterprise Leadership

  • Shape and implement financial strategies that align with group-wide growth and governance objectives at listed-entity standards.
  • Lead group-level capital structuring, funding initiatives, and investor reporting frameworks.
  • Advise the CEO and board on financial performance, capital efficiency, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead the integration of the finance team in strategic acquisition and divestment of assets and portfolios.
  • Oversee investment governance, portfolio performance, and strategic asset allocations.

Group Financial Operations & Compliance

  • Drive the design and implementation of scalable finance systems and group-wide reporting frameworks.
  • Ensure full compliance across multiple jurisdictions and entities (ASIC, APRA, AFSL, tax, audit).
  • Champion best-in-class forecasting, scenario modelling, and operational controls.
  • Lead treasury strategy across the group including fund flows, liquidity, and investor distributions.

Leadership Across Entities

  • Lead and inspire a sizeable multidisciplinary finance team across local and offshore locations.
  • Provide mentorship to the all finance team, fostering alignment, accountability, and performance.
  • Promote a values-led culture that prioritizes collaboration, integrity, and innovation.

Stakeholder Management at Scale

  • Serve as the principal financial liaison to the board, CEO, investors, lenders, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain high-trust relationships with key internal stakeholders including fund managers, operations leads, and corporate services.
  • Present detailed financial models, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations at the group board level.

What you bring to this role:

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA/CPA qualified with strong academic and technical credentials.
  • 10+ years’ experience in senior financial leadership, ideally in complex multi-entity investment or asset management environments.
  • Demonstrated success working with or within listed entities, family offices, or institutional fund managers.
  • Exposure to sectors such as agriculture, asset management, property, or custodial services preferred.

Strategic & Technical Acumen

  • Deep understanding of fiduciary duties, investment governance, and funds management compliance.
  • Proven ability to drive strategic planning, capital structuring, and cash flow forecasting across multiple funds.
  • Strong track record of implementing enterprise-level finance systems and process improvements.

Leadership & Communication

  • Exceptional leadership capabilities with experience managing dispersed and diverse finance teams.
  • A track record of building high-performing teams, fostering development, and driving culture change.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at board level and beyond.
