Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

The Agency ICT Services Branch is responsible for supporting all ICT systems and infrastructure excluding the primary business applications such as SAP CRM and Salesforce CRM.

The branch provides and support ICT services to Agency Staff and Partners. This includes the design, build, and maintenance of ICT applications, infrastructure, and hardware. The branch manages the relationship with Services Australia and other external ICT service providers within the agreed service levels, providing ICT Support to Agency Staff and Partners, transitioning and managing new ICT services and improving ICT services to meet business requirements.

The Site Technology and Networks Section sits within the Agency ICT Services Branch and provide all technology solutions to our offices around the country

The National Disability and Insurance Agency (NDIA) is seeking candidates to fill APS5 Site Technology Officer vacancies.

Where you can add value

Specifically your duties will include:

  • Working as an onsite liaison for senior technical staff, vendors, and end users.
  • Supporting the Agency’s video conferencing and audio-visual technologies including configuration, acoustic testing, and training for end users.
  • Providing support for physical network services onsite, including hardware installation and removal, patching and break fix troubleshooting.
  • Using tools such as drills for the installation and removal of hardware and potentially working with heavy and awkward objects such as visual displays.
  • Providing support on the M365 platform.
  • Updating and maintaining appropriate registration of all ICT asset including asset moves.
  • Assisting with investigating technical requests assigned to the team and engaging others for assistance in addressing the more detailed problems.

You will excel at providing IT support services to stakeholders with the knowledge you are enhancing outcomes for our participants.

What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • Expertise in managing video conferencing and audio-visual technologies, including configuration and acoustic testing.
  • Strong skills in diagnosing and resolving issues related to physical network services, including hardware installation and troubleshooting.
  • Capability to handle heavy and awkward objects such as visual displays and use tools such as drills for hardware installation.
  • Proficiency in supporting and troubleshooting the Microsoft 365 platform.
  • Certification in a recognised technology industry standard(s).

While this role is ideally performed from Deakin -ACT, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
