Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Trade Assistant to join our team in Darra. This role involves preparing equipment for hire, facilitating stock transfer, maintaining yard presentation, and assisting with general operational tasks.
Position Duties
- Equipment Preparation and Maintenance: Ensuring all equipment is ready for hire, cleaned, has visible fleet number stickers, and displays correct branding. All document holders are equipped with necessary documentation such as risk assessments, pre-start books, and user manuals.
- Loading and Unloading Equipment: Loading and unloading all equipment pre and post-hire onto third-party transport vehicles and ensuring delivery dockets are completed for each transaction.
- Stock Transfer Between Branches: Transferring stock between Brisbane branches, including transfers to and from Chinchilla.
- Branch Presentation and Organisation: Ensuring all available rental stock is well-presented and organised to maximise space efficiency. Also participating in group maintenance tasks when they occur.
- Attendance at Toolbox Meetings: Attend all relevant staff toolbox meetings.
- General Assistance of Local Branches: Performing tasks as required at local branches, including loading and unloading VIR equipment and completing other general duties as directed by the VIR General Manager or VIS Workshop Manager.
- General Support for VIR Brisbane Staff: Performing general duties as required by VIR Brisbane staff.
- Weekly Yard Stock Take: Performing a weekly yard stock take for Brisbane branches and providing a stocktake report to the VIR General Manager and Rental Coordinator.
About You
- Previous experience in rental coordination, preferably within the industrial services industry – Preferred, not required.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in fleet management systems and reporting tools – preferred, not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and departments.
- Forklift licence desirable.
