Policy and Project Officer

Victims Services

  • Location - Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available
  • Employment type - Temporary position (12 Months) - Full time (35 hours)
  • Salary - Clerk Grade 7/8, Base Salary $110,266 - $122,058), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

As a Policy and Project Officer at Victims Services, you will play a vital role in developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and programs to better support victims of violent crimes in NSW. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful reform, work with diverse stakeholders, and make a real difference in the community.

What you'll do

As part of the Victims Services team, you will manage a variety of projects aimed at supporting victims of crime. You will contribute to the development of key policies, undertake research, and prepare reports, briefs, and discussion papers.

You will also:

  • Engage with stakeholders across government and non-government sectors, providing timely advice on issues impacting victims of crime.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support the development of policies and programs.
  • Prepare and review policy and project-related documents, such as briefs, reports, and budgets.
  • Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of service delivery, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Provide support in managing project timelines, budgets, and competing priorities.
  • Represent the department on key policy issues with external organisations and community groups.
  • Work as part of a dynamic and collaborative team within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and you will be contributing to impactful work supporting victims' rights and services.

What we're looking for

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in policy, project management, or a related field.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to manage competing interests effectively.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills, with a focus on delivering quality outcomes.
  • Experience in managing projects and meeting deadlines and budgets under pressure.

Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:

  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
