About AustChina Institute
The AustChina Institute (ACI) is envisioned to be the leading think tank for comprehensive and balanced research on the Australia-China relationship. Recognising the critical gap in impartial, evidence-based policy research, ACI was founded to bridge this void and empower policymakers with nuanced insights into the bilateral relationship.
With China being Australia's largest trading partner and a global leader in over 90% of critical technological advancements (eg AI, quantum computing, robotics, biotech, renewable tech, battery tech, space exploration…etc) our bilateral relationship holds unparalleled potential for economic growth. Despite this, public discourse is frequently clouded by biases and misconceptions. ACI was established to provide the research and recommendations necessary for balanced, informed foreign policy decisions.
Our work spans 4 essential pillars of the Australia-China relationship:
Economy and Trade
Security and Geopolitics
Bilateral Relations
Technology, Science, and Climate Action
By addressing these critical areas, ACI offers comprehensive research to support policymakers as they navigate this pivotal international partnership.
