SALARY: $1,146.57 - 1,485.02 pw + Super
Work Type: Temporary Full Time up to 3 years
Location: Works Depot - 5 Millwood Avenue, Narellan 2567

As a Natural Areas Technician, you will be actively involved in the management and protection of Camden's bush regeneration, conservation, riparian areas, aquatic vegetation, constructed vegetated water quality systems and general open space maintenance activities. To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated and enthusiastic team member who is keen to share your knowledge with others and communicate effectively with volunteers and other key stakeholders. Your actions in this role will make a significant impact on the environment and surrounds for the community.
Essential:
- Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management, or equivalent.
- Experience in undertaking Natural Areas maintenance activities. Knowledge of bush regeneration and weed control techniques
- Experience in working with volunteers and community groups.
- Experience in operating a variety of plant & equipment associated with natural areas maintenance, hand tools, chainsaws, brush cutters, pesticide application equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to undertake training to gain necessary qualifications to undertake work required.
1. AQF3 Chemical application or equivalent
2. National Construction Induction Certificate (White card)
3. Trim and crosscut
4. Pole saw - Current Class C Drivers Licence
Desirable:
- Certificate IV in Conservation and Ecosystems Management, or equivalent.
- Ability and willingness to gain further qualifications including RTA traffic controller certificate (Blue and Yellow or equivalent), first aid, manual handling, Tree felling.
- Experience and/or training with Manual handling training
