Yalata Anangu Aboriginal Corporation
Posted 25 days ago
About Us: We are seeking an enthusiastic individual or dynamic couple ready to embark on a rewarding career change. We operate the Yalata Community Store, Roadhouse, and Caravan Park, nestled in the stunning Far West Coast of South Australia on the eastern edge of the Nullarbor Plain. Our mission goes beyond retail; we're a lifeline to our remote Aboriginal Community, providing groceries, essential services, and employment opportunities.
What We Offer:
A vibrant, diverse role working across our Roadhouse, Community Store, and Caravan Park
Fully furnished, heavily subsidised accommodation
Not for Profit salary packaging options
A passion for training and developing people
Your Role: You will be the heartbeat and friendly faces of our operation. Your dynamic role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, making you all-rounders in our team. From managing front of house, point of sale and inventory to food preparation, cooking, booking accommodations, and maintaining accommodation. Your days will be a blend of retail and community engagement.
Skills and Experience:
Retail experience, preferably in a grocery/hospitality environment
Understanding of rostering and staff allocation across multiple sites
Proven experience in inventory and stock control
Administration and financial management skills
Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills
A passion for training and developing people
Computer literacy with the ability to learn new software
Kitchen and cooking skills
Unrestricted Driver's License
Forklift license or the ability to obtain.
Requirements: All Yalata Lands, including inside accommodation, are dry zones, and the possession and consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. As our stores provide services to 'at-risk and vulnerable people,' candidates will be required to complete a 'National Police Check' and a 'Department of Human Services Clearance,' or have the ability to obtain them upon job offer presentation.
We understand that relocating solo to a Remote Community can be a significant step. Therefore, we actively encourage couples to apply, as our organisation offers a variety of opportunities beyond the listed role for the right applicant.
To Apply: Please email your cover letter and CV, expressing your interest in this exciting opportunity, to: [email protected]
