About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) has an exciting opportunity to join the Pharmacy Department as an Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist. The purpose of this role is to provide leadership for the implementation and monitoring of an innovative and evidence-based service to improve the use of antimicrobials, patient safety, infection treatment outcomes for all patients treated at SWH.
Position overview
- Employment Type: Part-time (48 hours per fortnight), On-going position
- Location: Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Pharmacist Grade 3
- Salary Range: $108,820.40 - $123,905.60 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
- Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent
- Registered to practice as a pharmacist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency & name appears on the register of the Pharmacy Board of Australia
- At least 10 years' experience in hospital pharmacy, including areas of high antimicrobial usage such as oncology
- Post-graduate qualifications relevant to the role
- Previous experience in AMS activities and education
- Previous involvement in research including publication experience in peer reviewed journals related to AMS or ID
- Experience in cost reduction activities or budget responsibilities
- Experience with project management, policy development and reporting skills
- High familiarity with the NSQHS Standards relevant to Antimicrobial Stewardship (Actions 3.18 and 3.19), as well as the Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Care Standard.
