Animal Management Officer
Level 3 - $96,103.71* per annum (incl $20,000 Port Hedland Allowance)
Permanent, Full-Time
*Increasing to $99,147.86 per annum as of 1st July 2025
The Role
The responsibilities of Animal Management Officer includes:
- Animal Care and Monitoring: Daily care, health monitoring, and cleaning of enclosures for companion animals located at the Town of Port Hedland's Animal Management Facility.
- Support Veterinary Services: Assist vets with treatments, maintain veterinary supplies, and update pound registers.
- Rehoming and Community Engagement: Facilitate rehoming processes, raise community awareness, and educate on animal health.
- Maintenance and Security: Ensure secure enclosures, maintain tools and equipment, and perform minor repairs.
- Compliance and Documentation: Adhere to WHS regulations, maintain accurate records, support Ranger Services operations, and contribute to team improvements.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Experience and confidence in handling cats and dogs
- National Police Clearance
- Current 'C' class drivers licence
- Rights to work in Australia
