As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a Management Accountant(Internal Accountant) with at least 3 years of relevant experience and a strong background in the tyre and automotive industry to oversee financial operations, reporting, and budgeting.

About the Role

As a Management Accountant (Internal Accountant), you will play a key role in financial planning, reporting, and compliance while ensuring efficient business operations. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can analyse financial performance and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, generate, and implement budgeting policies aligned with financial and accounting standards.

Formulate, implement, and continuously update financial policies and procedures for wholesale and retail operations.

Compile and present month-end, quarter-end, and annual financial statements, including fixed asset reports and financial analysis.

Oversee and manage inventory records, ensuring accuracy in quarterly audit trails.

Manage procurement documentation, ensuring accurate tracking of inbound shipping records.

Assess and record vehicle and equipment depreciation on a quarterly basis.

Perform cost analysis, liaise with freight and import agencies, and allocate expenses appropriately.

Perform daily reconciliation of bank transactions and maintain accurate supplier and customer account records.

Manage payroll processing, employee onboarding, and superannuation entitlements.

Liaise with regulatory authorities (ATO, ASIC) and assist external tax agents regarding compliance, supplier contracts, and business agreements.

Conduct financial analysis to assess business performance and provide strategic financial planning insights.

Prepare and review Management Reports, financial records for BAS lodgement and annual tax return submission in coordination with the External tax agent.

Engage with financial institutions to manage cash flow and business funding arrangements.

Oversee financial reconciliations and manage transaction recording systems.

Utilize and integrate financial software (Mechanic Desk, MYOB, CoStar, Xero) to streamline accounting functions.

Implement new financial systems and contribute to business process optimization.

Monitor and manage supplier payments and customer receivables for financial accuracy.

Oversee payroll processing and compliance with contractual obligations.

Manage and supervise finance-related operations across departments, including sales and inventory management.

Address financial inquiries from internal teams and maintain professional stakeholder relationships.

Implement financial policies and procedures to enhance internal control systems.

Assess liquidity and solvency by preparing detailed cash flow statements and financial risk evaluations.

About You

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of tyre & automotive industry accounting
Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, Costar, Mechanic Desk, and financial software
Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis
Ability to manage payroll, taxation, and compliance matters
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
