Job Description
Part-time, 4 days per week
Based in Malvern East, on the lands of the Wurundjeri & Bunurong Peoples
$62,358.64 pro rata + 11.5% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550
The Reconnexion Program supports people safely to reduce or stop their use of sleeping pills and anxiety medication through our Benzodiazepine Counselling Program. This free, confidential service supports individuals struggling with dependence on medications like Valium, Xanax, and Serepax.
Our team provides:
Guidance on safely reducing medication with GP collaboration
Counselling for sleep, anxiety, and mood concerns
Self-guided programs, peer support groups & phone support
Resources, tools, and expert advice
Your Role, Your Impact
No two days will be the same! You’ll be the backbone of our counselling services, ensuring that our clinicians, volunteers, and clients have everything they need to make a real impact. From welcoming clients and scheduling appointments to managing referrals, processing invoices, and keeping our spaces inviting, your work will keep everything running smoothly.
Some of your key contributions will include:
Greeting clients in person and via telehealth, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported
Managing client bookings and maintaining accurate records in Zedmed
Conducting initial screening calls, explaining processes, and assisting with referrals
Keeping counselling rooms and shared spaces tidy, welcoming, and fully stocked
Processing invoices and maintaining financial records
Supporting compliance and audits, helping our counsellors keep their registrations up to date
Being the go-to person for volunteers and staff when admin support is needed
Who We’re Looking For
You thrive in a fast-paced environment where organisation and compassion go hand in hand. You’re a natural problem-solver who can juggle multiple priorities with ease, all while making sure every person you interact with feels valued and heard.
You’ll bring:
Experience providing administrative support in a healthcare or counselling setting
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems (experience with Zedmed is a bonus!
A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Excellent communication skills – you’re warm, engaging, and able to build rapport with people from all walks of life
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
An understanding of working with diverse communities, including CALD, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and LGBTQIA+ individuals
