Are you passionate about supporting individuals impacted by gambling harm? Meli is seeking a Counsellor to provide counselling, group work, and outreach support for people experiencing gambling-related harm and those indirectly affected. This role also includes providing support through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Based in Warrnambool, you will work across the Warrnambool, Moyne, Glenelg, Corangamite, and Southern Grampians regions, offering therapeutic interventions, risk assessments, and collaborative service planning. You will play a key role in building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to improve service accessibility and collaboration.
About the Role
As a Counsellor, you will:
- Provide therapeutic counselling, group work, and support for individuals and families affected by gambling harm.
- Offer counselling support through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including risk assessments, to inform support plans and referrals.
- Deliver outreach support to improve service access in the community.
- Apply trauma-informed, client-centred approaches using frameworks such as Stepped Care, Family Violence Framework, MARAM, and Child Safe Standards.
- Contribute to the development, delivery, and evaluation of gambling harm group programs.
- Maintain accurate case notes, assessments, and data records in line with accreditation standards.
- Build collaborative partnerships with internal teams and external agencies to enhance service integration.
- Deliver service promotion to increase awareness of the Gamblers Help and EAP programs.

- Part-time, ongoing position
- 0.8 FTE working 60.8 hours per fortnight
- $97,614 p/a (pro-rata) + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in counselling, psychology, or a related behavioural science, with applicable registration (e.g., AHPRA)
- Experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions for addiction and gambling harm.
- Strong ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments, case notes, and support plans.
- Knowledge of trauma theory, grief and loss, attachment theory, and family violence frameworks.
- A commitment to service integration and collaboration for improved client outcomes.
