About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area. Rockhampton is the principal service centre and as such provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, and is the location of the acute adult inpatient facilities. In addition there is a Adult Step Up Step Down facility located in Gladstone and a Adult Community Care Unit located in Rockhampton.

About the role:

The Mental Health Clinician - Senior will provide expert, high quality; evidence based mental health care for consumers of the service to facilitate positive patient outcomes from a recovery perspective. They will be expected to be an expert in building on collaboration and on teamwork, empowering staff to take responsibility for their practice and consumer outcomes.

• Provide clinical leadership to the Case Management Team, initiate, encourage and participate in service improvement, evaluation and innovative treatment.
• Provide expert consultancy/advisory services as required to both internal and external agencies that are relevant to the service.
• Jointly coordinate with other clinical seniors, an enthusiastic team focussed approach to service delivery, recovery promotion and KPI achievements.

About you:

It is mandatory for this position that applicants hold a tertiary qualification in a recognised health profession (social work, occupational therapy, psychology).

• Eligibility for full registration with the appropriate professional body in Queensland (AHPRA), or in the case of a Social Worker, eligible for membership with the AASW.

While not mandatory, relevant postgraduate qualifications and or experience in mental health would be well regarded.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
