Kids Out West is growing, and we’re on the lookout for a compassionate and capable Service Leader to support our dedicated team in Maitland and surrounding areas.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Service Leader, you’ll provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Therapeutic Youth Workers who care for children and young people in Out of Home Care. You’ll ensure quality, consistency, and trauma-informed practice across our homes—making sure every child has the chance to thrive.
You’ll manage daily operations, support staff development, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure our kids get the best care possible.

About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
Passionate about improving the lives of children and young people
Experienced in Out of Home Care or a similar setting (Therapeutic Youth Work, Case Management, etc.)
A natural leader with great people and communication skills
Calm under pressure, with strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
Ready to step up—or already experienced in a supervisory or casework role
Comfortable mentoring staff and managing rosters and operations
What You’ll Need
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (preferred)
Experience supporting children with complex needs or trauma backgrounds
Current unrestricted driver’s licence + reliable, insured vehicle
Working with Children Check (for paid employment)
National Criminal History Check (within the last 6 months)
First Aid & CPR certification (HLTAID011 & HLTAID009)
Willingness to complete or renew Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training
Consent to be entered into the Residential Care Workers Register
