About This Opportunity
The Project Manager - Development Focused plays a key role in assessing the feasibility and strategic viability of infrastructure projects at UQ. This role emphasises the early stages of development, commercial drivers, and strategic assessments to ensure projects align with UQ's long-term goals before moving into the delivery phase. This position offers the chance to influence high-level decision-making and contribute to the strategic direction of UQ's infrastructure portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses and commercial assessments to assess project viability.
- Develop and implement strategies for project approval, ensuring alignment with governance and strategic priorities.
- Provide commercial insights and strategic direction on project selection, procurement, and stakeholder engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leading communications and engagement activities to support project success.
- Work closely with the broader project team to ensure a seamless transition from feasibility to project delivery.
- Provide updates to governance forums, manage documentation, and ensure adherence to reporting requirements.

About You
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with qualifications in Construction Management, Project Management or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Experienced Project Manager with a strong background in commercial property development, infrastructure, or strategic project management, ideally with experience in the private sector.
- Proven experience in feasibility analysis, commercial assessments, and ability to manage construction and infrastructure projects across their full lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, consultant/contractor selection, and contract negotiations.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Archibus, Unifi, and other project management applications for tracking project timelines, reporting, and financial management.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Experience in cost-benefit analysis, business case development, and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication and team management skills, including the ability to liaise with stakeholders effectively.
