Health and Safety Advisor - Join Our BP Team at Ventia!

$135,000 Inclusive of Superannuation

Ventia is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our teams, contractors, and clients. This is a Monday to Thursday position based in Kwinana working 10-hour days, 6am to 4pm.

About the Role:
As a Health and Safety Advisor at Ventia, you will be at the forefront of implementing our health and safety management system, driving continuous improvement, and supporting operational leaders in fostering a safe workplace culture. Your role will involve:

  • Actively apply and support the Ventia health and safety procedures, ensuring that safety standards are met and maintained across all sites.
  • Conducting thorough operational risk reviews, site audits, and inspections, ensuring that risk controls are implemented, monitored, and continuously improved. You'll also lead third-party audits and guide subcontractors to ensure compliance.
  • Support the development and delivery of training materials, contribute to the competency development of teams, and assist in scheduling assurance audits.
  • Promoting and tracking environmental performance initiatives in line with Ventia's sustainability goals.
  • Leading incident investigations, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and providing detailed reporting in line with Ventia's standards. You will also assist with post-incident injury management and liaise with support functions to ensure appropriate action is taken.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a Health and Safety Advisor role, with experience in risk management, incident investigations and auditing.
  • Qualification in Health and Safety or equivalent, along with Investigation training. Lead Auditor Training or internal equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of project-related equipment and operational requirements, with a solid understanding of SHEQ management systems and processes in high-risk industries.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and an ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Competent in using SHEQ reporting tools, such as PBI reporting, to track and improve safety performance using key indicators.
