People & Culture Operations Business Partner
Location: Head Office – Crows Nest, with required travel to Ingleburn (2-3 days/week), Somersby (1 day/week or fortnight), and occasional travel to Dubbo.
Reporting to: Chief People Officer
Salary: $150,000 – $170,000 plus super, plus bonus
Our client, a leading organisation in the FMCG/Manufacturing sector, is seeking a highly experienced People & Culture (P&C) Operations Business Partner to provide strategic and operational HR leadership across multiple sites. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-impact role that directly contributes to workforce planning, employee relations, and organisational growth.
About the Role
As the P&C Operations Business Partner, you will be instrumental in shaping HR strategy across a complex and evolving workforce. The role is particularly focused on workforce planning at our Ingleburn site, which houses up to 200 employees, including a mix of salaried staff, labour hire, and casual employees.
The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders to optimise rostering, ensuring production teams are managing appropriate staffing levels.
Given the manufacturing setting, you must be comfortable working on-site at Ingleburn, which is a wet facility handling raw protein.
A strong understanding of industrial relations, workforce compliance, and union engagement is essential, as the business is looking to transition towards its own Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBA).
Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Lifecycle Management
- Support recruitment and selection processes, ensuring the right cultural and operational fit.
- Oversee onboarding and equip managers with best practices for new hires.
- Manage probation periods, performance reviews, and career progression.
- Administer employee changes, including promotions, pay adjustments, and leave management.
- Conduct exit interviews and drive retention strategies.
Workforce Planning & Industrial Relations
- Take ownership of workforce planning at Ingleburn, ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
- Work with staholders on approprate staff levels and work force planning
- Lead union negotiations and manage enterprise agreements, advocating for employer interests.
- Provide expert guidance on Award and EBA interpretation.
- Act as the key HR point of contact for employees and managers across sites.
Talent & Performance Management
- Partner with leaders to drive a high-performance culture through L&D initiatives.
- Guide managers in conducting performance reviews and implementing succession planning.
- Manage disciplinary matters and support conflict resolution.
Strategic Business Partnering
- Work closely with operational leaders to align HR strategies with business goals.
- Provide strategic advice on policy, legislation, and best practices.
- Lead change management initiatives to enhance engagement and retention.
- Foster a coaching culture that empowers managers to lead effectively.
Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S)
- Ensure compliance with WH&S standards and foster a proactive safety culture.
- Collaborate with site leadership to address safety concerns and incident management.
Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:
- Minimum 8 years' experience in a senior HR/P&C role within manufacturing, FMCG, or an industrial setting.
- Strong expertise in employee relations, union negotiations, and EBA interpretation.
- Demonstrated experience in workforce planning and rostering optimisation.
- In-depth knowledge of HR legislation, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to build strong relationships with employees and unions while advocating for employer interests.
- Proficiency in HRM systems, Applicant Tracking Systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in leadership development and coaching.
