People & Culture Operations Business Partner Location: Head office Crows Nest
Travel to to the following sites:Ingleburn, Dubbo & Somersby, NSW
Reporting to: Chief People Officer
Salary: $150,000 – $170,000 plus super, plus bonus
Our client, a leading organisation in the FMCG/Manufacturing sector, is seeking a highly experienced People & Culture (P&C) Operations Business Partner to provide strategic and operational HR leadership across multiple locations. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, values-driven environment where you can make a meaningful impact on organisational culture, performance, and engagement.
About the Role As the P&C Operations Business Partner, you will work closely with operational leaders to drive people strategies, provide expert HR guidance, and deliver innovative solutions that align with business objectives. This role requires regular travel across NSW and QLD and offers a unique opportunity to influence key HR initiatives, including workforce planning, employee relations, and leadership development.
Key Responsibilities Employee Lifecycle Management
- Support recruitment and selection processes, providing insights on candidate fit
- Ensure a seamless onboarding experience, equipping managers to support new hires
- Manage probation periods, performance conversations, and career progression
- Oversee employee changes, including promotions, pay adjustments, and parental leave
- Conduct exit interviews and implement retention strategies where necessary
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers, providing expert guidance
- Advise on Award and Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) interpretation
- Coach managers on handling employee relations matters effectively
- Lead union relationship management and EBA negotiations
- Provide strategic input on conflict resolution and complex employee relations cases
Talent & Performance Management
- Support Learning & Development initiatives to foster a high-performance culture
- Guide managers in performance reviews, goal setting, and workforce planning
- Implement succession planning strategies and manage disciplinary matters
Strategic Business Partnering
- Work closely with business leaders to understand operational goals and workforce needs
- Provide strategic HR advice on policy interpretation, legislation, and best practices
- Lead change management initiatives to enhance engagement, retention, and culture
- Promote a coaching culture that empowers managers in people leadership
Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S)
- Ensure compliance with WH&S standards and foster a safe work environment
- Collaborate with site leadership to proactively address safety concerns and incidents
Qualifications & Experience Essential:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a senior HR/P&C role, ideally in an industrial setting
- Strong expertise in employee relations, union negotiations, and EBA interpretation
- In-depth knowledge of HR legislation, policies, and workforce management
- Proficiency in HRM systems, Applicant Tracking Systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and integrity
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- Proven experience in leadership development and team coaching
