About the role
The City of Canning are looking for casual Activity Instructors with experience teaching gymnastics!
We have casual set shifts for Gymnastics classes (in line with public school terms), teaching children and teenagers aged from 4 to 18 years old.
If you're experienced at teaching gymnastics, enthusiastic, and dedicated to the wellbeing and education of young gymnasts, this role is perfect for you!
Based at the Cannington Leisureplex, you will undertake duties such as:
Supervising gymnastic classes to groups of children and teenagers with various skill levels
Fostering a positive and inclusive environment that encourages active participation
Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants during sessions
Communicating with colleagues on class and program delivery
Supervising other sports activities where and when required
What’s on Offer?
2 x casual set shifts per week in line with public school terms - Tuesdays (3:30pm – 6:30pm) and/or Saturdays (9:00am – 12:00pm)
Opportunity to cover other shifts and sports activities during school term and school holidays
Please note that shifts may be subject to change inline with school and business/operational requirements.
Who we’re looking for
Considerable experience teaching/coaching gymnastics to children and teenagers
Gymnastics WA Coaching qualifications highly desirable
Current Provide First Aid Certificate and CPR certificates
Current Working with Children Check and satisfactory National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
Excellent customer service skills and ability to create safe and interactive classes
Strong teamwork skills and natural inclination to work collaboratively
Experience instructing other sports like Dance, Soccer, Basketball, Badminton, Pickleball or Netball is a bonus!
