Hunter Sports Centre is a dedicated athletics and gymnastics facility currently undergoing a $52M redevelopment. Hunter Sports Centre is one of the largest and most progressive gymnastics clubs in the Hunter Region. Currently facilitating programs from recreation through to high performance MAG.

We are looking to employ a skilled and enthusiastic Women's Artistic Gymnastics Coach with a strong gymnastics skill set to assist in the delivering of day-to-day gymnastics programs in addition to planning and implementation of pathways for recreation through to performance and competitive programs, and training and education of current and new staff in the area of Women's Artistic Gymnastics.

The Gymnastics Pathways Development Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the gymnastics hall including face-to-face coaching, staffing and general administration tasks.

Purpose of the Role:

The Gymnastics Pathways Development Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the gymnastics pathways from recreation participation through to competition. This is primarily a face-to-face coaching role with supporting administration duties. The coaching load will include school groups, recreational programs, talent identification, development programs and competition programs.

The primary outcome for this role is to ensure a safe environment for all participants and staff through high quality delivery of coaching, maintaining a safe environment and ensuring pathways are established to provide opportunities for all participants to engage in gymnastics at whatever level they desire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Encourage, develop, and promote the study and practice of gymnastics as a fundamental movement activity for all ages and abilities.

• Promote gymnastics as beneficial to physical, mental, and social well-being.

• Provide ‘whole of life’ access to suitable gymnastics programs.

• Provide a competitive gymnastics outlet for both male and female participants.

• Host, coordinate and promote gymnastics activities, programs, competitions and events.

• Be a leader in gymnastics education and training.

• Administration roles including rostering, work schedule, program mix, competition administration, member communications and progress assessments/grading.

• 30hrs face to face coaching per week.

Administration tasks include but not limited to:

• Staff rosters

• Work schedule

• Program matrix

• Allocating groups

• Competition administration

• Member communication

• Progress assessments

• Competition grading

Coaching tasks include but not limited to:

• 25-30hrs face-face coaching per week

• Coaching at events

• Training & education

What We’re Looking For:

To be considered for this role you will need a background and demonstrated experience of coaching a broad range of participants. You will have strong technical skills, a solid understanding of women’s artistic gymnastics and a commitment to safe progressive learning.

You will have the capacity to work independently and as a part of a team. You will have a passion for gymnastics, the ability to coordinate responsibilities simultaneously with initiative and a willingness to learn.

• Adaptability to our participant centred, positive training culture.

• Able to plan and coach all apparatus in line with the level of coaching accreditation.

• Have developed juniors of a high calibre.

• Will be able to actively spot/shape athletes appropriately to the level of coaching accreditation.

• Minimum of a Gymnastics Australia Advanced WAG coaching accreditation.

• Show good organisational and leadership skills.

• Be first aid trained.

• Be an Australian citizen or appropriate rights to work in Australia.

• Current Driver's licence.

• Work 38 hours/week (including planning), 6 days/week, and competitions as required.

• Current NSW Working with Children credentials or capacity to obtain WWCC.

• Experience coaching a wide variety of ages and abilities.

• Good personal time management, planning and execution of tasks.
