The Role: Azure Cloud / DevSecOps Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join this dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Azure Cloud, and Networking. This role requires a deep understanding of Cloud Security fundamentals and networking best practices. As part of a team of Cloud Engineers, this role will work collaboratively to deliver Reliable, Secure, and Cost-effective solutions aligning with cloud best practices and frameworks.

Essential Job Requirements:

Deploy and maintain infrastructure for reliability, security, and performance, leveraging Infrastructure as Code.

Design, build, and manage CI/CD pipelines on behalf of the engineering team to ensure code changes are integrated, tested, and deployed efficiently.

Be the subject matter expert for networking within the team, defining IP Addressing schemes, and providing guidance on peering, routing, and networking monitoring etc.

Embed security practices into all aspects of the DevOps processes ensuring all workloads align to key guardrails including best practice frameworks and Azure Policy.

Manage observability tooling to ensure a proactive approach to issue resolution by embedding logging, monitoring, and alerting across the workload technology stack.

Manage key platform tooling to support both the Platform team and other teams leveraging these tools.

Work closely with the Security Operations team to triage and remediate cloud misconfiguration or security vulnerabilities as they arise.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

History working in the Microsoft Azure stack aligning to Microsoft Architectural Patterns such as Cloud Adoption Framework – Enterprise Scale Landing Zones.

Experience aligning Cloud workloads to the Microsoft Well-Architected Framework.

Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies with proven experience working with tools to support delivering with operational excellence front of mind.

Infrastructure as Code – Terraform preferred.

Pipeline tooling – GitHub Actions preferred.

Proven experience deploying, maintaining, and monitoring the following Azure Service, Azure Networking (IPSec, Routing, App Gateway, FrontDoor (WAF and CDN), DNS, Private Link etc.)

Azure Security (KeyVault, Firewall, WAF, Policy, Defender for Cloud) and Azure SQL and Cosmos DB.

Azure API Management and Azure native observability tooling (App Insights, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Alerting etc)

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
