Job Overview:
As an Outdoor Adventure Guide, you will play an integral role in delivering immersive and unforgettable experiences for guests exploring the Lava Tubes, Gems, and Gorges Trail. You will lead tours showcasing the natural wonders of the Etheridge Shire, including dramatic gorges, ancient lava tubes, and gemstone fossicking sites. Your passion for the outdoors, knowledge of the local environment, and commitment to safety will ensure guests have an enjoyable and educational adventure.
In addition to adventure guiding, you will be part of the luxury glamping experience, where guests can unwind in elegantly designed accommodations, enjoy gourmet dining under the stars, and indulge in a selection of award-winning wines. You will help create a seamless experience that combines thrilling outdoor exploration with premium hospitality, ensuring guests have a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and conduct guided tours through lava tubes, gorges, and fossicking areas, ensuring an engaging and informative experience.
Provide guests with historical, geological, and cultural insights about the McBride Volcanic Province and Etheridge Shire.
Facilitate safe and responsible gemstone fossicking and gold nugget exploration, offering guidance on proper techniques and regulations.
Educate guests about local flora, fauna, and Aboriginal cultural heritage.
Ensure guest safety by adhering to all safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
Assist in maintaining tour equipment, vehicles, and facilities to a high standard.
Collaborate with the hospitality and tourism team to enhance the overall guest experience.
Promote sustainable tourism practices and respect for the natural environment.
Provide first aid assistance when required and manage any on-site incidents appropriately.
Assist with marketing and guest engagement efforts, such as taking photographs and sharing tour highlights on social media.
Enhance the glamping experience by incorporating stargazing activities, fine dining recommendations, and storytelling around the campfire.
Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Outdoor Adventure Guide, Tour Guide, or similar role preferred.
Strong communication and storytelling skills to engage diverse groups of visitors.
Knowledge of geology, local wildlife, Aboriginal culture, and history is an advantage.
Ability to operate 4WD vehicles and navigate remote terrains safely.
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain one.
Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor activities, including hiking and fossicking.
A passion for eco-tourism and adventure travel.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Knowledge of Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus, as we welcome international guests.

This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery and trucks to support infrastructure projects, land development, and mining activities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient operation of excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders, and haul trucks while maintaining high safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate earthmoving machinery (excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, rollers) for land preparation and site development.
Drive heavy trucks and haul vehicles to transport materials such as soil, gravel, and equipment.
Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.
Work collaboratively with site supervisors, engineers, and ground staff to complete projects efficiently.
Identify and report machinery faults or maintenance issues.
Operate within designated site plans and adhere to environmental management guidelines.
Assist with gold exploration and land excavation where required.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience operating excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders, or other earthmoving equipment.
Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) truck license required.
Valid White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
Knowledge of road construction, land development, or mining operations is preferred.
Strong understanding of WHS regulations and ability to work safely in remote areas.
Ability to perform basic mechanical maintenance on machinery.
Physically fit and able to work in challenging outdoor environments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
