We’re on the hunt for a Depot Hand – Mattress Deconstruction Specialist to join our waste facility team. It’s hands-on, it’s physical, and let’s be honest – it’s not the world’s most glamorous job. But if you love staying active, working with a down-to-earth crew, and making a difference by keeping waste out of landfill, this could be right up your alley!

Resource Recovery Australia is a not-for-profit social enterprise that works in waste management to keep waste out of landfill, create jobs for people experiencing barriers to work, and to engage and connect people in our communities.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Ripping into mattresses – breaking them down into their recyclable bits (springs, foam, fabric – it all has a place!)
Using hand tools – knives, cutters, and a bit of elbow grease will be your best mates
General depot duties – helping keep the site running smoothly and supporting the team
Helping the planet – every mattress you deconstruct keeps valuable materials out of landfill

What We’re Looking For:

You’re physically fit – mattresses don’t deconstruct themselves!
You don’t mind a bit of hard work and getting your hands dirty
You’re a team player who’s happy to help out wherever needed
A good attitude – we can teach you the rest!
You’re a safety focused person – PPE must be used.
