We are seeking a Crop Protection Manager based in Perth.
Role
Provide support to the Senior Manager Crop Protection and the Business Group to identify strategic and regional RD&E requirements in Crop Protection to reduce the impact of Pests, Diseases and Weeds.
Responsible for liaising with GRDC’s Grower Relations Managers and the National Grower Network and identifying regional crop protection constraints that impact growers.
Develop regional RD&E investment proposals and accompanying business cases that identify and propose responses to grain grower’s constraints and opportunities.
Responsible for identifying communication opportunities and liaising with Grower Groups for delivery of project products and services.
Responsible for facilitating regional crop protection R&D with diverse stakeholders to reach an optimal outcome for growers.
Candidate Profile
Degree in Agricultural Science, Science or equivalent.
Demonstrated minimum 5 years sound knowledge of related industry experience in a crop protection R&D field. (Weed Science, Entomology or Plant Pathology)
Demonstrated experience in project negotiation, facilitation and management in a relevant industry (5+ years’ desirable)
An understanding of commercial principles including finance, brand management, IP management, licensing and deal development
Highly developed presentation, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence, motivate and develop others
Strong analytical skills and the capacity to leverage off external expertise and think strategically, including the ability to provide sound project and issue advice
Demonstrated commitment to professional development
An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
Ability to synthesise information and provide a summary and recommended options.
Ability to travel inter and intrastate as required to ensure regular stakeholder engagement
Mandatory Requirements:
Must be prepared to travel as and when required.
Must be willing to undergo all Pre-employment Medical checks.
Must have a valid Australian Driver’s Licence as deemed necessary.
