About Us

Workers' Compensation Regulatory Services (WCRS) plays a critical role in maintaining a balanced and efficient workers' compensation scheme in Queensland.

Our responsibilities include regulating insurers, dispute resolution, rehabilitation services, and implementing government policy to support workers and employers.

We work collaboratively with insurers, employers, health professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure that workers affected by work-related injuries receive the support they need to return to meaningful work.

About the Role

As Manager, Review Unit, you will provide strategic and operational leadership within the Review and Appeals Unit. Your role will be vital in ensuring timely, highquality review decisions on workers' compensation entitlements, employer insurance policies, and other regulatory matters. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, drive innovation, and lead a team of professionals dedicated to making a difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and manage a team to deliver high-quality review and appeal decisions.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to enhance productivity, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Offer expert advice on complex review and appeal matters.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve the review process.
  • Develop and implement innovative business processes that enhance transparency and efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring open communication and alignment with regulatory objectives.
  • Oversee budgets, financial reporting, and operational expenditure within your area of responsibility.
  • Represent WCRS at seminars, stakeholder meetings, and industry discussions.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture that prioritises well-being, inclusion, and ethical behaviour.

  • Technical Knowledge – Expertise in Queensland's workers' compensation, work health and safety, electrical safety, and labour hire licensing schemes (or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge).

  • Relationship Building – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
