The Assistant Director – Operations will provide expert guidance and direction regarding pharmaceutical procurement, purchasing, inventory management, logistics and supply chains. You will collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure optimal client service and efficient operating of the warehousing and distribution functions. The role is integral to ensure that best value is provided to the Queensland's healthcare system by ensuring that Queensland Health has the right medications at the right time, right place, right quality and right price. You will play a crucial role in progressing the Central Pharmacy Future State project in concert with the Central Pharmacy Future State Project Team.

About you

We are searching for someone with:

  • Demonstrated high level expertise, skill and knowledge in pharmaceutical product, procurement, purchasing, inventory management, logistics and supply chains.
  • Demonstrated expert level ability to develop and implement strategic direction, as part of a team, and lead change in the pharmaceutical procurement, purchasing, inventory management, logistics and supply chain areas on a statewide level, in line with statewide priorities.
  • Demonstrated expert ability to advocate and effectively communicate, engage and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, providing authoritative advice regarding the development of statewide pharmaceutical supply chain initiatives.
  • Demonstrated high level ability to lead and manage the program, the people, service improvement initiatives and resources in line with quality human and resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
  • Applicant must be registered as a pharmacist with AHPRA with relevant experience in an Australian based pharmacy.
