The Company.
An Australian household name in the Building and Renovation space, the Attic Group is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2025. Our continued growth in existing core markets on the east coast of Australia and strategic expansion plans now requires the addition of an experience Finance Manager to work as a key business partner to the CEO and wider leadership team to help drive key financial decision making across all core functions.

Leading a Finance Team with resources in both Sydney and Melbourne, your leadership and communication capabilities will drive a high performance operational and analytical environment. Experience in transitioning a business through accounting system software change would be highly considered as we look to drive change in this area of our business.

Inventory management and margin controls are key areas of focus as we look to drive new standards in both process and procedure ensuring accountability throughout the organization. This will be a primary area of responsibility as we optimize our business and grow through existing and new product and service pathways.

The Role.

Reporting to the CEO of the business, you will be hands-on in a broad role that gives you ownership and responsibility of all accounting and reporting operations, from transactional functions to financial analysis and business partnering.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Managing month-end reporting
• Preparation of tax obligations including BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax returns, coordinating with external tax service
• Ensuring effective cash flow management and undertake budgeting/forecasting & planning
• Transactional accounting including invoicing, AP, AR, Payroll
• Ensuring the company adheres to regulatory requirements
• Profitability analysis for each business unit and identify areas of improvement and suggest ideas
• Provide insights to leadership team including CEO and COO
• Collaborate with our leadership team to drive operational efficiency and profitability.
• Lead and mentor the Finance team; including ensuring backup procedures are in place for staff.
• Manage relationship with IT and Insurance vendors; including overseeing IT costs and insurance renewals & claims.
• Manage contracts and leases.

About You:

• 5+ years post CA/CPA qualification
• Ideally, you will have experience with e-commerce, retail accounting and project management
• Experience with Business Central is beneficial (not essential)
• Strong communication skills and able to effectively work in a team environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience in the Building and / OR Renovation industry would be advantageous
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent Excel skills.
