Position Summary:

As the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring that Emmerton Park Inc. complies with all relevant statutes, regulations, and accounting standards. You will oversee the financial management systems, ensuring they are contemporary and effective in line with our strategic and policy framework. Your role will also include providing timely, accurate, and relevant financial reports to management, helping us make informed decisions for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a hands-on role where you will play a crucial part in managing EPI’s financial operations. Key responsibilities include:

Financial Reporting & Management: Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial and management accounting information.

Budget & Forecasting: Develop, maintain, and present the budget (Operating, Capital, Cashflow) in collaboration with the CEO.

Annual Reporting & Audits: Lead the preparation of the annual accounts, external audits, and annual report, working closely with the CEO.

Cashflow Management: Maintain and prepare financial forecasts, ensuring the organization’s liquidity is well-managed.

Accounts Receivable & Credit Control: Oversee the accounts receivable function, ensuring timely debt collection and managing overdue accounts.

Taxation: Prepare, lodge, and manage tax obligations including BAS, GST, PAYG, Payroll Tax, and FBT documentation.

Financial Process Improvement: Implement financial management improvements to increase efficiency, reduce financial risk, and stay compliant with accounting standards.

Supervision: Lead and support the Accounts & Admin Support Officer, ensuring smooth workflow operations.

Compliance & Insurance: Ensure all statutory compliance is met, including lodging grant acquittals and maintaining adequate insurance coverage for all properties.

Other duties as directed by the CEO.

You will also play an active role in the wider EPI community, participating in organizational development and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Minimum: Accounting degree

Desirable: CA/CPA qualification

Experience:

5+ years post-qualification experience (desirable)

Previous experience in Aged Care and/or Community Care (desirable)

Skills:

Strong technical accounting ability

Advanced budgeting and forecasting skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Inerva (desirable)

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy

As a valued member of the EPI team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all occupational health and safety guidelines. You will be expected to participate in safety training and actively report any hazards or incidents.
