Gundagai Meat Processors are looking for Skilled Meat Workers to join the GMP Team on a full-time basis.

We are looking for skilled Boners, Slicers, Slaughterman (including Halal slaughterman) and Stunners.

The GMP Business

GMP is a progressive meat processing business owned and operated by the Barton family in regional New South Wales, Australia. The plant is conveniently located halfway between Sydney and Melbourne on the Hume Highway in the beautiful foothills of the Snowy Mountains which is a prime lamb growing region.

GMP has long been committed to the region and its people, innovation, and the meat processing industry. The business has recently completed an exciting expansion project to increase annual production capacity, export certification, and increased automation. With the plant’s increased capacity and the spring lamb flush, we are seeing sustainable increased numbers flow through the plant. Now’s the time to join the team!

Start your day at GMP

Single shift with production starting at 6:00 am

Understand and implement daily cut plans

Change cut specifications as required while working to chain speed

Work safely while adhering to work instructions

Communicating clearly and treating others respectfully while working

Working in a team environment and taking direction as required

Pitching in a team effort to get the job done

An experienced Skilled Meat Worker – Boner, Slicer or Slaughterman can expect to earn from $65,835.00 - $75,000.00 per annum plus superannuation

Some paid overtime may be required in addition to standard hours

What you need to be successful

Work as a team with Supervisors to meet cut plan

A commitment to working safely

Good communication skills and the ability to get along with others in a multicultural environment

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Committed to coming to work, reliable and punctual

Australian Citizenship or legal right to work in Australia

A positive attitude

COVID double vaccinated

Skilled Workers

At least one year work experience as a Skilled Meat Worker - Boner, Slicer or Slaughterman.

Ability to understand cut plans and make changes as required
