FIS provides evidence-based screening, assessment and intervention services for individuals in custody and the community. We focus on areas such as violent and sexual offending, restorative justice, violent extremism and family violence.

As part of the FIS leadership team, you will oversee the treatment of complex cases across a service area consisting of three clinical teams and three Principal Clinicians, that deliver offence specific clinical assessments, and interventions to individuals convicted of a range of offences and service users with a cognitive impairment.

What you will do

As General Manager, Prison Interventions, you will help set the direction for effective treatment programs across the following portfolios: Principal Clinicians (x3), Minimum/Maximum Security Prisons, Medium Security Prisons and Adapted Interventions. You will support managers across these teams, making sure resources are used effectively and services meet targets.

You will also:

  • mentor staff
  • manage professional development
  • provide expert advice on emerging clinical trends
  • build relationships with key partners
  • represent Corrections Victoria at conferences.

Eligibility

To apply, you will need to hold - or be eligible for - one of the following:

  • Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency; or
  • Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW); or
  • A master's degree in psychotherapy and eligible for registration with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA); or
  • A master's degree in counselling and eligible for membership with Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA); or
  • Credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; or
  • Registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia is desirable.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, the social sciences and/or public policy is desirable.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include national police checks and misconduct screening.
