SMYL Community College, a Curriculum and Reengagement in Education (CARE) School, invites applications from a suitably qualified and experienced Trainer to support the school’s Sport and Recreation programme.
As a CARE School, SMYL Community College offers an alternative education program under the School Education Act 1999 (WA) for 12 to 18-year-olds for students who have experienced significant barriers to education. The Sport and Recreation programme supports the holistic development of each student and facilitates the school’s Bushrangers Endorsed Programme, Sport and Recreation and Outdoor Education excursions.
The role is facilitated within a collaborative team and is across our six campuses from Fremantle to Mandurah, with SMYL vehicular access.
The successful candidate/s will need to demonstrate:
Accredited qualification in Sport and Recreation such as:
Cert III or above in Sport and Recreation
Cert III or above in Fitness
Cert III or above in Outdoor Leadership
Diploma of Sport
Diploma of Leadership and Management, or
Cert III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, TAE40116 preferred
Current Working With Children Card
Current MR drivers’ licence - preferred
Excellent time management skills
Demonstrated ability to work with at-risk young people
