ACT OPTICAL - Optical Dispenser and / or Optical Retail Assistant

ACT Optical is a busy, independent, family-owned optometry practice and we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service, while providing quality eye care and having an extensive range of fashionable eyewear.
We have two busy and growing stores, and we are seeking an Optical Dispenser and / or Optical Retail Assistant to join our small team.

About the role
The positions involve a combination of administration, reception and optical dispensing, as you work within a team to meet our patient’s Eyewear and Eyecare needs.
The positions can be Part-Time or Casual and have the potential to be Full-Time.

We are looking for:

Optical Dispenser - Part-Time - 2-4 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday

Optical Retail Assistant - Casual – 2-3 days a week, Tuesday to Friday

About you
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following tasks:

Offering technical and fashion advice on the suitability of optical frames and lenses

Interpreting optical prescriptions

Merchandising of optical frames and accessories

Resolving customer concerns

Reception and clerical duties

Liaising with Medicare, Health Insurance Funds, community care packages, etc

Attend and undertake training as required.

The successful applicant will have the following:

Experience in Optical Dispensing or be prepared to undertake training and study to enable them to fulfil the job requirements.

A warm and friendly personality with excellent communication skills.

Outstanding customer service.

The ability to work well within a team environment and individually.

High standard of smart casual personal presentation and grooming

Flexibility to work within the 2 stores as required and on rostered Saturday mornings.
