Primary objective
The Regional Executive Director Big Rivers Region provides strategic leadership, administration and management of health services and health support services throughout the Big Rivers Regional Healthcare Service.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide strategic leadership and management services of the human, financial and physical assets and resources of the Big Rivers Regional Healthcare Service.
2. Lead the establishment and maintenance of governance and management systems for the Big Rivers Regional Healthcare Service ensuring safe, effective and efficient services, financial sustainability, management of risk internal controls and sound workforce practices.
3. Ensure compliance with the Service Plan, any health service directives, system policy and relevant legislation.
4. Establish and maintain best practice governance over the safety and quality of care and lead the Big Rivers Regional Healthcare Service to continuously improve the quality of services.
5. Lead the development of community and stakeholder engagement to build greater local involvement in health service delivery.
6. Develop and strengthen linkages across Big Rivers Regional Healthcare Services to ensure resources are used in an effective and equitable basis for the benefit of people of the NT.
7. Identify and manage corporate and clinical risks, including informing the Chief Executive Officer in a timely manner of issues of public concern or risks that may affect the Big Rivers Regional Healthcare Service.
8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
9. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience and success as a senior manager in a relevant healthcare service, focused on outcomes and performance.
2. Demonstrated high level strategic, conceptual, analytical and collaborative skills, including the ability to interpret and manage the social, political and organisational environment.
3. Proven success in the management of human and financial resources, in relation to the delivery of high quality services and outcomes within a service delivery environment.
4. Proven ability to lead and participate in diverse teams, to manage through performance frameworks to achieve outcomes while creating a positive organisational culture.
5. Demonstrated experience in implementing, sustaining, monitoring and evaluating clinical governance, accreditation processes, quality and safety systems and risk management systems.
6. Sound knowledge of current and emerging health issues, national workforce reform initiatives in the areas of responsibility, and their relationship with key strategic directions of the department and Government.
