Join our dynamic team at Shangri-La Sydney as an Assistant Executive Housekeeper. In this role, you will help lead a dedicated team to ensure our guests experience the highest standards of comfort and service. In this role, you will oversee daily housekeeping operations, direct staff assignments, and ensure adherence to all hotel standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department, including directing staff, ensuring cleanliness, and maintaining operational standards.
Assume department responsibility in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping.
Assist with hiring, training, and performance management of both hotel and contract staff.
Monitor departmental costs, manage requisitions, and help maintain key inventories.
Ensure a safe working environment by applying Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and training staff in hazard identification.
Coordinate with other hotel departments, such as Front Office, Laundry, and Engineering, to ensure seamless operations.
Conduct inspections to ensure that guest rooms, public areas, and facilities meet Shangri-La’s high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Supervise outside contractors and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
Ensure all Housekeeping colleagues maintain proper grooming, attire, and conduct according to hotel standards.
Assist in budget preparation and administrative tasks such as stocktakes, inventories, and special projects.
Ideal Candidate:
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Knowledge of housekeeping operations and safety standards.
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Dedication to maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and guest satisfaction.
