About the role:

This is more than just an apprenticeship — it’s your first step into a high-tech, hands-on career. As an Electronics Apprentice at Secure Bits, you’ll work full-time while studying toward your Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (UEE30920). Based in our Symonston workshop, you’ll be trained across a wide range of disciplines from electronics and soldering to CNC machining, 3D printing, and advanced manufacturing. You'll be part of a supportive and experienced team, working on real projects that support Defence, Government, and Critical Infrastructure clients. If you're curious, hands-on, and keen to learn, this role offers the perfect launchpad into a career with purpose and exciting tech.

What desirable attributes should you have?

We're looking for someone who:

• Is curious, motivated, and ready to learn.

• Enjoys solving problems and getting things working.

• Has an interest in electronics through school, hobbies, or tinkering at home.

• Can follow instructions and is keen to build real-world skills.

• Has completed or is completing Year 12 (preferred).

• Has any hands-on experience—whether it's soldering, 3D printing, CAD, or pulling things apart to see how they work.

• Understands that reliability, teamwork, and a good attitude are just as important as technical ability.

Key Responsibilities:

You’ll work closely with our skilled engineers and technicians on:

• Assembling, fabricating, testing, and troubleshooting electronic systems and cable harnesses.

• Helping build prototypes and small production runs.

• Using modern tools like CNC machines, 3D printers, laser cutters, and pick-and-place machines.

• Supporting other areas like firmware, network testing, mechanical design, and more.

• Keeping records, following processes, and contributing to a culture of safety and quality.

Workplace Environment:

This is a hands-on, workshop-based role in a secure manufacturing facility. You'll be part of a fast-paced, high-quality environment where learning is constant, and precision matters. Our team is supportive and passionate, and you’ll be surrounded by people who are excited to teach and share their knowledge. Expect to get your hands dirty, learn something new every day, and be part of something with real impact.

Why Join Us?

If you are seeking a workplace where your ideas and efforts truly matter, Secure Bits is the place for you. Here, you’ll find the chance to work on transformative projects that shape the future of Australia’s defence and manufacturing industries, all while being part of a supportive and forward-thinking team.

At Secure Bits, we offer:

Competitive salary and benefits: We value your expertise and reward you accordingly.

Professional growth opportunities: From training programs to mentorship, we invest in your future.

A supportive workplace culture: Join a team that values diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.

• Impactful projects: Work on initiatives that contribute to Australia’s national security and technological advancement.

Flexibility and innovation: Embrace a culture where new ideas are welcomed, and flexible work arrangements are supported.
