About the role
We are seeking two experienced Senior Business Analysts to join our Next Generation Digital Learning Transformation team.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in delivering success across various project streams, including the Gmail to Outlook Migration and Learning Ecosystem Uplift. You will be involved in analysing business requirements, developing strategies to optimise processes, and collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition. You will conduct thorough end-to-end investigations, analyses, reviews, and documentation of business requirements to drive improvement initiatives that support the program. Your expertise will be essential in identifying improvement opportunities, working with cross-functional teams, and delivering high-quality solutions that align with our program goals.
The Next Generation Digital Learning Transformation Program is a key component of the University's digital transformation roadmap and will establish a digital platform to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. This initiative is designed to transform the digital education landscape by providing a seamless, personalised, and data-driven education experience. The program will leverage robust analytics to monitor student performance and engagement, enabling timely interventions for students at risk and supporting academic staff in delivering high-quality education.
Please note that this is a fixed term contract ending 31 December 2026 based at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde.
Key areas of responsibilities:
- Lead analysis and manage support activities to solve complex problems in business improvement projects. Conduct thorough business analysis to understand and document current processes, systems, and requirements.
- Investigate and determine business requirements and processes with key stakeholders. Perform root cause analysis, process reviews, and map current and future processes. Identify and validate requirements with business users.
- Lead and facilitate service performance metrics. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement business solutions, including updating IT management practices, procedures, and organizational change. Drive the business case with detailed requirements, specifications, and process maps.
- Apply and monitor modelling and analysis tools to determine stakeholder objectives and identify issues. Analyse gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in digital learning platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine project strategy assessments, requirements specifications, and feasibility studies. Facilitate workshops, meetings, and interviews to gather and validate requirements.
- Participate in the development and execution of test strategies, plans, and cases. Assist with planning User Acceptance Testing and document or review test cases. Execute test plans to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
About you
You are a seasoned Senior Business Analyst with expertise in digital learning technologies and business analysis, excelling in analytical and problem-solving skills across business and technical contexts.

- A degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, preferably within the education or technology sector.
- Experience working with or implementing digital learning platforms.
- In-depth understanding of digital transformation concepts and methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, Miro, and other Project Management tools.
- Experience working with or implementing digital learning platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Certification in agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Master) is highly desirable.
