FourQuarters is excited to partner with a dynamic, multinational global Retail business, with a presence in over 20 countries, to recruit an experienced end to end Payroll Specialist for a 9-month fixed-term contract.
This role has been created due to business expansion in Australia and the implementation of a new systems project, with the potential for the position to transition into a permanent opportunity.
Location: Melbourne CBD
WFH: Flexible working arrangement (3 days office / 2 days WFH)
Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 + Super - depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing and ensure smooth payroll operations for approximately 1,000 employees. Specific duties include:
- Assist with complete payroll processing, including stepping in for team members during their leave periods.
- Process payroll using systems such as MYOB or PayGlobal.
- Interpret and apply awards, with experience in Retail and Medical Awards considered an advantage.
- Ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation, including tax laws, superannuation, the Fair Work Act, and Modern Awards.
- Generate and submit Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting to the ATO.
- Manage leave entitlements, including annual leave, sick leave, and long service leave.
- Conduct payroll reconciliations, ensuring accurate superannuation guarantees and tax calculations.
- Manage off-cycle payments, overpayments, garnishments, new hires, terminations, and changes in pay.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes and relevant reporting.
Technical Skills Required:
- Proficiency in payroll systems such as iChris, Time Target, MYOB PayGlobal is essential.
- Strong data analysis skills to ensure accuracy and compliance within payroll data.
- Experience with payroll automation and system integration with HRIS and finance systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements within payroll operations.
Audit & Risk Management:
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Identify risks within payroll processes and develop strategies for mitigation.
- Maintain clear documentation of payroll processes and procedures.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Solid understanding of Australian payroll laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing for large workforces.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle complex payroll tasks.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
