Community Place Manager
  • 8-Month Contract

An opportunity exists for a Community Place Manager to join a major infrastructure project. This role focuses on meaningful community engagement, ensuring strong relationships with key stakeholders, and acting as the main point of contact for the public.

About the Role

As the Community Place Manager, you will play a critical role in engaging with the local community, responding to enquiries, and ensuring public concerns and feedback are addressed. You will be responsible for developing and delivering clear communication materials, identifying and mitigating potential risks, and fostering positive relationships between the project and the broader community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading community engagement activities across various phases of the project
  • Acting as the key liaison between the project team and local communities, ensuring concerns are acknowledged and addressed
  • Responding to enquiries, managing complaints, and identifying emerging risks to ensure positive outcomes for both the project and the public
  • Developing high-quality communication materials to clearly articulate project objectives and updates
  • Monitoring and analysing community feedback to provide insights for strategic planning
  • Maintaining accurate records of stakeholder interactions and preparing reports on engagement outcomes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience: A minimum of three to five years' experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, or a similar role. Experience working on infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: The ability to convey complex information clearly to a diverse range of stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution: A proactive and solution-focused approach to managing community concerns and project-related issues.

  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to establish trust and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project Management & Organisation: Strong ability to balance multiple priorities, work autonomously, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage stakeholder databases.
  • Qualifications: A degree in communications, community engagement, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
