About the role
This is a full-time role at the Central Kempsey IGA store located in Kempsey, NSW 2440. As the Assistant Manager/Deli Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the business and leading the Deli team.
What you'll be doing
Assist the Store Manager with overseeing store operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of staff, inventory, and customer service
Manage the Deli department, including staff rostering, ordering, inventory control, and quality assurance
Provide exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping experience for customers
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the store's strategic growth plans
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements
Lead, train, and develop the Deli team, fostering a positive and productive work environment
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a retail management or supervisory role, preferably within a supermarket or grocery environment
Strong deli/food service expertise and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and people management skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers, team members, and stakeholders
Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and a willingness to learn and adapt
Proficiency in using retail systems and technology
