Our client is, a very successful large fruit & vegetable wholesaler, supplying to over 100 independent supermarkets across Victoria. Founded in 2003, and based at the Melbourne Markets in Epping, our client aims to provide their customers with the freshest produce available, by purchasing from quality assured growers and merchants.

Their range encompasses all types of fresh produce and enables them to create a varied selection of products from the basic to the exotic lines. With hundreds of items available they can supply minimums for their customers to maximise their range with reduced shrinkage.

Due to increased expansion, they are seeking experienced Warehouse Operators for their Epping distribution facility to work the following Night Shifts per week in a permanent part time position.

Sunday Night - 10.00pm - 7.00am

Tuesday Night - 10.00pm - 7.00am

Thursday Night - 10.00pm - 7.00am

About the Role

Reporting into the Warehouse Manager, as a Warehouse Operator, your primary objective is the picking and packing of orders of produce for distribution to supermarkets and general warehouse duties.

They are looking to employ efficient and hard-working, night shift warehouse operators, to process all operational and distribution requirements of produce and to be team players, where you may be utilised in varying job roles, from forklift operation to general pick packing duties.

The responsibilities include, but not limited to, taking inventory of all the warehouses produce and ensuring that the produce is suitably packed, to prevent damage during transit.

You will have a high attention to detail, be able pick orders with accuracy and speed to meet achievable KPI's, able to stand for extended periods and also be adept at operating forklifts in a safe manner.

Ultimately, as an outstanding warehouse operator you will adhere to all warehouse safety practices as well as demonstrate exceptional organisational, time management and communication skills as you ultimately play an important role in the business's success.

Please note – These are permanent part time positions, and the role is paid at an annualised salary, and shifts are predominantly 8 - 9 hours but may vary on workload, with no weekend or public holiday requirements.

Core responsibilities.

Picking and packing orders of produce in accordance with customers’ requirements

Promptly processing orders, which includes retrieving specified produce in the warehouse as well as packing, sealing, and labelling orders in adherence to company policies & procedures.

Inspecting of produce for any damages or discrepancies

Maintaining an accurate record of all produce received and distributed.

Preparing and checking shipment documents

Perform material handling tasks in the warehouse using forklifts and pallet jacks.

Maintaining a clean and tidy work area

Demonstrating a high level of safety and process compliance at all times

Skills and experience

Must hold a current forklift licence.

Experience working in a warehouse environment in either a pick packing or forklift driving role.

Must have proven experience in working in a Night Shift role.

Ability to work Night shift - Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday 10.00pm – 7.00am

Basic computer literacy and ability to read and understand relevant paperwork.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The ability to safely operate warehouse machinery and equipment.

Be fit and healthy and can lift a maximum of 15kgs.

Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.
