Local Family owner and operated building company looking for qualified painter to joint the team

Based in the Yarra Valley we build custom new homes and bespoke renovations and extensions.

ROLE OVERVIEW

If you are a qualified, experienced Painter looking to be part of a strong local Building business, where you can work with a consistent crew of Carpenters and expand your industry knowledge by being exposed to various different work sites then this could be the role for you.

• With our office based in Lilydale and a strong Yarra Valley business base, it makes sense that we seek a Painter local to the area or broader Eastern suburbs.

• We believe that this position presents a unique opportunity for the right candidate because:

• The role is fulltime, providing reassurance where sometimes contracting or sub-contracting cannot

• As a specialist Building company, we can offer exposure to all aspects of the construction cycle, providing opportunities to further develop skill by being involved in the whole building project

• Perhaps you currently (or previously) work as an ABN holder; we’re not saying leave what you’ve built. Bring your clients along and run your work through our business

• We empower you to take ownership of your day by rostering and scheduling your work

• You will have access to our Lilydale based office facilities for all estimating work as well as access to our trade accounts

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Ideally, we seek an experienced Painter with a track record of working full time for 5 – 10 years. Professional, knowledgeable and approachable you will have excellent customer service skills. Our business has invested in Apprentice Painters, it is important to us that you are willing to support, guide and mentor this position.

Further skills required follow:

• Proven experience across new homes and renovations

• Sound technical knowledge across paint blends, colour palettes, brand distinction and paint base use

• Exceptional and meticulous application skills

• The ability to correctly assess the correct application method

• Experience and knowledge to help Clients with colour selection

• Ability to effectively quote jobs and assess the most effective approach / application according to budget

• Effectively estimate and manage time required on site

• A strong work ethic, passionate about your trade

• Reliable and punctual you work hard to build your own reputation and maintain that of your crew and wider team

White / Red cards and EWP license preferred but not compulsory
