About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Sous Chef and Head Chefs to join our family of hospitality venues Roy Hammond, Grainery Lane, Aunty Jacks and Hop Temple in Ballarat, Victoria. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading a talented culinary team and overseeing the kitchen operations to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This full-time role offers a chance to showcase your culinary skills in a thriving regional setting. A great opportunity for visa sponsorship if required.

What you'll be doing

Manage and oversee all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staffing

Lead and inspire the kitchen team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities

Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction

Collaborate with the management team to develop innovative seasonal menus and specials

Maintain strict food safety and hygiene practices to comply with industry regulations

Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage the kitchen budget effectively

What we're looking for

Significant experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a high-quality restaurant or hotel environment

Proven track record of leading and motivating a kitchen team to deliver exceptional food quality and customer service

Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of various cooking techniques and food trends

Strong attention to detail, organisational abilities, and problem-solving skills

Passion for using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients to create imaginative and delectable dishes

Formal culinary training or qualifications, such as a certificate or diploma in commercial cookery
